Oh That’s Right…I’m Pregnant
It seems that this week I realized I am pregnant. Let me give you a little background as to explain what I mean. It took us about a year to get pregnant with Elli. Granted we did not have to go through what many couples go through, but we did have to use infertility medicine and there were many “not pregnant” tests before we saw a “pregnant” one. We found out we were expecting on our 3 year wedding anniversary and I instantly started Googling baby names, nursery decor, and what to eat when pregnant lists. I took pictures of my growing belly and documented everything we did to prepare. This time around we got pregnant right away and I felt so blessed. This time we found out we were pregnant on the day Hurricane Irene hit. We lost every tree in our yard, our shed was crushed, and the
So Excited to Join TummyTime
My name is Laura Waller and I am excited to be able to blog with TummyTime. I attended Appalachian State University and after college I moved to Washington DC where I taught Kindergarten. The best part of my time in DC was meeting my wonderful husband Jacob. After enjoying all the excitement of DC, we moved back to Eastern North Carolina, where I continued teaching. After trying for a while to get pregnant and meeting with infertility doctors, we welcomed our first child, Elliana, into the world. Elliana means “my God has answered” and she certainly is our answered prayer. We decided that I would stay home to be with Elli full time. When Elli turned one year old, I decided to cheat a little on the “stay at home” gig and take a part time job working with refugee families in the school systems. That job will end in
Baby Fever
I’ve been looking at Levi’s baby pictures lately and I’m still in shock regarding how much he’s grown and developed! I’m trying to see the differences in his size, shape and face and I just can’t believe I didn’t notice him growing right in front of me from birth up until now. It’s crazy to think that you just notice one day how much they’ve grown and you miss the days, those short-lived days, of when they needed mommy’s help just to hold their heads up… I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I’m coming down with a case of baby fever! I’m not ready to have another baby yet, though some women pop them out one after another like clockwork. No, no, not me, I’m still trying to get my high school figure back! BUT, friends around me are pregnant and some have newborns and I catch
“My Next Pregnancy” List
Now that Blake and I have come to the end of our first pregnancy experience, we’ve decided that there are a few things we want to do differently with our next pregnancy. I’ve made a small list describing what these differences are with some explanations behind the choices. Things We’ll Do Differently The Next Go’Round: 1. I will definitely get a belly/back brace. I never realized how much pain I would be in walking around with a huge lump on my front side. I knew it wouldn’t be exactly comfortable, but ignorance is bliss sometimes. 2. Blake decided he didn’t want to be around me for the first trimester and a half for the second pregnancy. I was difficult to live with I’ll admit, but there were some underlying circumstances he chooses to ignore… 3. I’d stitch my mouth shut for the majority of the pregnancy. I didn’t use foul language or anything, but
Hello TummyTime!
Hello TummyTime bloggers and readers! My name is Kelly and I’m an old hat to blogging for Onslow Memorial Hospital but I’m new to TummyTime. I’ve been blogging for the CuddleBugs blog for a year and a half now. Let me introduce myself by telling you all a little bit about me. In 2008 I married Garrett, the love of my life. He is a Marine and of course I followed him here to Jacksonville, NC. I have a graduate degree I don’t use and instead I’m the happiest stay at home Mom ever to our daughter, Nora, who is almost two years-old. Garrett recently got home from his second deployment and surprise, surprise! (okay, not really) I’m pregnant! Garrett and I are happily expecting our second child on or around October 1st. We’re hoping this is the second of six pregnancies for us. Yes, you read me correctly. We
