Ready For 2012!
My family opened our presents and rang in the New Year! Now what? Now it is crunch time. It is time to get ready for the new baby and get back into the swing of things. This means spring cleaning, saving money, losing weight, and working hard. The holidays made me a little lazy. I tried not to stress over every little detail in the house that was out of place. My family did a little traveling around Christmas so of course clothes were thrown everywhere and the house didn’t get cleaned on time. I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions. I decided to just go with the flow. I am excited to be a mommy times two. I don’t want to let anything get in the way of experiencing all of the firsts that my baby girl will experience. I realized how fast kids grow up by watching my
It’s been fun, TummyTime!
I can’t believe I’m writing this post, but it’s time for me to say good-bye to TummyTime. It’s weird that this is going to be my last post because Levi is only 9 months old and I have so much more to share with everyone and so so so so much more to learn about parenthood from everyone, as well! Boy, have we covered so much already though! We started out talking about pregnant bellies, hormones, vitamins, morning sickness, doctor’s visits, ultrasounds, baby showers, past due, labor, delivery, and so much more! Sharing the main points about Levi’s birth with women who have been there, done that or who were about to be there and doing that was really a great way to becoming a better mother. Without all the knowledge from others and comforting advice I’m not sure I would have been able to figure out motherhood as well
How Was Your First Christmas With A Baby?: Part 2
If you missed Part 1, read it here. The next morning we went to my parents for breakfast and gifts. That was fun! I packed her breakfast so she could eat with us and grandma made her an egg yolk which she loved! We then continued onto her other set of grandparents. The big mistake came when we didn’t stop home first for her to take her morning nap I think. We opened gifts, ate lunch, and then all hell broke loose. She pretty much screamed from the time lunch was over until we drove home. There were some short breaks in between, but for the most part I was very busy. She’s getting her first tooth and I’m almost certain that with that and the lack of nap she was not feeling very well. Overall, this Christmas went good. Christmas eve went smoother than Christmas day for sure. I
Feeling Not-Needed
I’m not sure if it’s all in my head or if it’s because I’ve been sick and extra moody, but I feel like Levi could care less if his mommy was around him anymore. He never reaches for me anymore now that I’ve finished school and Blake is done with his job training and I’m not sure if I’m over exaggerating or if it’s because babies pick up on their parent’s foul moods sometimes. Now that Levi is taking bottles of formula/breastmilk, it’s as if he doesn’t care if I’m around him at all anymore. It’s like all he cares about is hanging out with his daddy for the past week or so. I’m glad that he is enjoying making up for all that time lost with his daddy, but does it mean that I have to be non-existent? Do babies do this often? Like, maybe one day he’ll prefer
How Was Your First Christmas With A Baby?: Part 1
Mine was a bit nuts of course. I woke up on Christmas Eve with the chest cold my grandpa got me for Christmas which made it even more nuts. It really didn’t matter though because I was just so excited that it was Addison’s first Christmas. What a big deal! I spent the morning running errands and helping my grandma set up things for the party she has every year. She has the biggest house so no one has really volunteered to take it over so I come every year to help. The baby was awesome all day. She got to sleep in the car in between destinations and she got to hangout in the wrap while we were in the stores. I do have to add here that baby carriers are important during the holidays. So many child abductions this year in New Jersey over the weekend! So sad.
