Hasta La Vista, TummyTime
Ladies (and gentlemen), once again, time has FLOWN by and it is time for us to say, “See you later” (it sounds so much better than goodbye). Yep, that’s right; my sweet baby is three months old. So, off to Cuddlebugs we go. I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the feedback you gave me in my scatterbrained and sometimes panicky posts. It is nice to know that you all are going through, have gone through, or will go through, some of the same things. Being a first time Mom, I am glad that I had you fellow Tummy Timers to share my experiences with (I hope I haven’t scared any of you) and it has been a blast to relive my days of being pregnant through your posts. I will keep coming back to hear how things are going for all of you! I hope
One Sick Mama
Houston, we have a problem! I am sick. Ugh. Let me start by saying, I rarely get sick, but when I do it is bad news. Ryan has been away for some training, so I have been playing the single-married mom game for a couple of weeks. Being the sole care take of Braylin and being sick is unacceptable in my book. So, I have to get better… pronto. It started with a sore throat, which I attributed to having the heat on in my house (because it has been COLD). So, I pulled out the humidifier and started sleeping with that on. Clearly, that was not the problem because my next symptoms were a stuffy nose and a splitting headache. Now, on top of those problems, my whole body feels exhausted and it hurts to move. Not good. Normally, when I am sick, I take (strong) medicine and stay
A Great Babysitter
As some of you may know, I recently graduated from Esthetics school. Well, graduating was the first of several hurdles to becoming licensed in the state of North Carolina. The next thing I needed to do was take the theory (written) test for the state, which I did last week. As soon as I found out the date that I was assigned to take my test, I started looking for someone to keep Braylin. Luckily, the first person that I asked was up for the task. I had to go to Wilmington to take what was supposed to be a ninety minute test. With travel time, I was expecting to be gone four hours (the longest I have ever been more than a few steps away from Braylin). I thought I would be nervous about leaving her, but when the morning of the test came; my test anxiety was far
Guess What?
If you read my recent post The Great Debate, you know that I have been thinking about getting Braylin’s ears pierced. Guess what? I did it. Well, not me personally, but I had it done. We were hanging out at the house on Saturday when it hit me that it was time. Braylin had just eaten and was in a good mood, it doesn’t get much better than that. I called the place where I was going to take her (to make sure it was a good time for them) and off we went. We arrived at the place (which will remain unnamed) and my heart started to race. I told the lady that we were going to get B’s ears pierced and surprisingly (since it is her job) I seemed to be inconveniencing her. She called over a coworker and they decided who was going to do it (I
Flying With a Baby
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, right? I think so! It is also a time of travel for our family. We have never spent a Christmas here in North Carolina; we always travel to one of our families homes for the splendid day. This year, we will be spending Christmas in Florida with my family. Normally, we drive wherever we are going. However, a thirteen hour drive with a three month old is not something that we are ready to attempt. So, we have made the decision to fly. Two hours on a plane seems much more manageable. I was very hesitant at first, but we made the decision for several reasons. The main reason is that Ryan doesn’t have a lot of time off of work and driving would take nearly four days away from our time with family. So we’ve decided to fly…now the question is…do
