Laura Waller

My name is Laura Waller and I attended Appalachian State University. After college I moved to Washington DC where I taught Kindergarten. The best part of my time in DC was meeting my wonderful husband Jacob. After enjoying all the excitement of DC, we moved back to Eastern North Carolina, where I continued teaching. After trying for a while to get pregnant and meeting with infertility doctors, we welcomed our first child, Elliana, into the world. Elliana means “my God has answered” and she certainly is our answered prayer. We decided that I would stay home to be with Elli full time. When Elli turned one year old, I decided to cheat a little on the “stay at home” gig and take a part time job working with refugee families in the school systems. That job will end in the Spring of 2012 and, as timing would have it, our second baby is due in May. At this point in time, my days are consumed with keeping up with Elli (which is harder than it sounds), working, trying to find exciting activities around Eastern NC for our family to experience, an occasional work out, and honestly - an occasional nap. I know things are certainly going to change in our house and in some ways that makes me a bit nervous so I am always excited to get advice from experienced moms!

Hello TummyTime bloggers and readers! My name is Kelly and I’m an old hat to blogging for Onslow Memorial Hospital but I’m new to TummyTime. I’ve been blogging for the CuddleBugs blog for a year and a half now. Let me introduce myself by telling you all a little bit about me. In 2008 I married Garrett, the love of my life. He is a Marine and of course I followed him here to Jacksonville, NC. I have a graduate degree I don’t use and instead I’m the happiest stay at home Mom ever to our daughter, Nora, who is almost two years-old. Garrett recently got home from his second deployment and surprise, surprise! (okay, not really) I’m pregnant! Garrett and I are happily expecting our second child on or around October 1st. We’re hoping this is the second of six pregnancies for us. Yes, you read me correctly. We want a BIG family! Nora’s birth was pretty unique and interesting and I’m dying to know what’s in store for this pregnancy and birth. I’ve heard every single pregnancy is unique and I totally believe it. Since I found out I was pregnant I’ve been reading all about other people’s pregnancies on my Droid phone application, What To Expect. They have a forum section where people can write about their experiences. My husband might say it’s a new obsession of mine –and I might have to agree with him. It’s so fascinating to read (for example) about how other people’s water broke –especially since mine the first time was relatively uneventful (well, aside from the meconium). I’m excited to be here and can’t wait to share my own story and hear about yours!
