Molly Mathews

My name is Molly. I have been married for 5 years and have two children. A 10 year old step-son, a 2 year old daughter and I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with a boy! I live in the town I grew up in and have a large family that I see often. We all live close to each other right now and I hope it stays that way as we draw a lot of support from one another. I have been a nurse for 6 years, mostly in the emergency department, and I love my job. Since young childhood I dreamed of being a nurse and a mom and here I am both! I couldn't have imagined how difficult the journey would be but neither could I have fathomed the Joy that would come from both. Becoming a mom has made me into a better person in many ways and a bit of a crazy worry wart in other ways! Having support from other moms who have been there before or are there with you makes all the difference in the world!

Growing up together

Yes they are this happy all the time! Ha!

Now that Caelum’s getting older and communicating more he and Lyra are really starting to enjoy each other’s company and it’s so sweet to watch.

They like to do things together lately- sitting, eating, watching TV, playing in the same room, laughing, chasing. Essentially things that friends like to do together they like to do. Every time I get the vacuum cleaner out they begin this game where they follow me around screaming as if it’s going to eat them. It’s never been so much fun to vacuum before!

Some negatives come from it in that Lyra (who just turned 4) at times snatches things from him or pushes him down. And he (who is now 16 months) is beginning to repeat things she says like “mine” over and over!

They get into it and will make noises back and forth where she is “copying” him and I’m constantly having to tell her to stop or not be so loud. So there are things that are frustrating about it but I’m so glad they have each other!

How do your kids get along? What age difference seems to be the best? What are your happy moments with siblings? Frustrations?
