My name is Molly. I have been married for 5 years and have two children. A 10 year old step-son, a 2 year old daughter and I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with a boy! I live in the town I grew up in and have a large family that I see often. We all live close to each other right now and I hope it stays that way as we draw a lot of support from one another. I have been a nurse for 6 years, mostly in the emergency department, and I love my job. Since young childhood I dreamed of being a nurse and a mom and here I am both! I couldn't have imagined how difficult the journey would be but neither could I have fathomed the Joy that would come from both. Becoming a mom has made me into a better person in many ways and a bit of a crazy worry wart in other ways! Having support from other moms who have been there before or are there with you makes all the difference in the world!


The Pregnancy Pillow

Ok so here’s the deal. I am a belly sleeper.  I go to sleep EVERY night on my stomach and later find that I have rolled to my side or back.  Now that I am past 15 weeks, I am trying to adjust to sleeping on my side.   :(

It is getting uncomfortable to be on my belly now because there is too much pressure.   All the pregnancy books say that sleeping on your back isn’t good for blood circulation, so it’s to the side I go, high ho!

I have one of those full body pregnancy pillows.  It’s a love hate relationship.  The pillow is very comfortable.  It supports my back and my belly at the same time.  In the past, it has definitely helped with the tossing and turning that have accompanied this stage of pregnancy.  But it takes up lots of room in the bed.  Jared complains because there is a pillow between us.   I will have to say that it does cut down on the cuddling from him that I am used to.  But I need this pillow!  We pregnant girls need all the sleep we can get!  Comfort is important!

So, today I find myself standing in the closet, staring at the pillow that must come down and be put on the bed again.  I was trying to get to 20 weeks this time because then, I would be to the halfway mark. For whatever reason, I thought that would be a great accomplishment.  However, last night I tossed and I turned.  I put a pillow between my legs, but I kept moving it from one side to the other as I tossed and turned.  Then my back started to hurt.  I guess it felt neglected since my belly had a pillow.  Let’s just say the discomfort of sleeping in the bed is approaching and it is time to do something
about it!
