Molly Mathews

My name is Molly. I have been married for 5 years and have two children. A 10 year old step-son, a 2 year old daughter and I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with a boy! I live in the town I grew up in and have a large family that I see often. We all live close to each other right now and I hope it stays that way as we draw a lot of support from one another. I have been a nurse for 6 years, mostly in the emergency department, and I love my job. Since young childhood I dreamed of being a nurse and a mom and here I am both! I couldn't have imagined how difficult the journey would be but neither could I have fathomed the Joy that would come from both. Becoming a mom has made me into a better person in many ways and a bit of a crazy worry wart in other ways! Having support from other moms who have been there before or are there with you makes all the difference in the world!

Sweatpants, Hoodies, Sneakers…Pregnancy Fashion at 9 months

Sweatpants, hoodies, and sneakers. This is the fashion I rock on a daily basis these days. I’m 9 months pregnant and comfort is #1 on my list. There is no point in trying to rock super cute shoes because my feet are round. Pregnancy pants aren’t the most comfortable to wear because they slide down. I’m all for being comfortable and rocking the sweatpants.

As far as being comfortable, lets talk shoes. I alternate wearing sneakers with wearing ballet flats. Sometimes sneakers are the only thing I want to wear because they give my feet cushion. I used to rock my high heel wedges. I figured if Jessica Alba can do it while pregnant why not me?

Well, I knew it was time to stop wearing my high heel wedges when I almost fell over in them at work. I was trying to be cute by wearing a maternity dress and my wedges. I felt confident and cute even with my belly poking. I slightly lost my balance and nearly fell over. Balance during pregnancy isn’t all that great anyway so I definitely knew it was time to get real and wear flats.

Basically, my coworkers have noticed a dramatic change in my wardrobe. I used to rock cute maternity outfits. Not so much anymore. I don’t blame any woman who is 9 months pregnant for wearing whatever she wants. Comfort should definitely be #1 on any expecting mom’s list because we have so few comforts left. Sitting, sleeping, standing, walking, and just breathing are all difficult tasks nowadays. Why not feel comforted by a pair of warm comfy sweatpants and a hooded sweater?

Has your wardrobe changed dramatically since getting pregnant? What’s your go to when it comes to being comfortable and fashionable?
