Favorite Baby Shower Games
I have been to more baby showers than the average woman; at least twenty –and probably a lot more. I’ve thrown or helped throw about half of those baby showers. To me, baby shower games are one of the most instrumental parts of the baby shower (aside from the food of course). Often baby showers bring together the mother to-be’s friends, mother (and mother’s friends), grandmother (and grandmother’s friends). Bringing together three different generations is sometimes tricky and baby shower games are just the way to do it!
Here are some of my favorite baby shower games (in no particular order):
1. Piggy Bank – Help start the baby’s college account. A piggy bank is purchased ahead of time and guests play a G rated version of never have I ever. If you have (dyed your hair for example) then you have to march up to the piggy bank and put a coin in. If you want to have a winner for this game make sure to keep track of how many times people go up to the piggy bank. We played the game without a winner and it was still fun to learn about other people and see who had been bungee jumping, etc.
2. The ‘Robert and Christie game’ –I am all about personalized baby games. That’s why I make up a list of questions to have the mom to be answer about herself, her husband and the pregnancy. The guests have to answer the way they think she would answer. You’d obviously change the names to fit the shower you’re hosting. I typically do ten questions. You get one point for each correct answer. Here are the questions I used for my friends Robert and Christie. Feel free to use these or make up your own.
- When is Christie’s due date?
- What is Christie’s biggest pregnancy complaint?
- What’s Robert’s biggest pregnancy complaint?
- How far along is Christie today? (weeks and days)
- Name one name Christie and Robert have thought about using for their son
- When did Christie and Robert get married?
- How many children do Christie and Robert hope to have?
- Name two colors that will be in baby H’s nursery
- Do Christie and Robert have a pet name for the baby?
- What is Christie’s favorite thing about pregnancy?
3. Baby Animals – I found this website full of free printable baby shower games. Their baby animal game is one of my favorites. They made a chart with the names of animals and you have to put what the baby would be called. For example what is a baby goose called? It’s called a gosling.
What are your favorite baby shower games?

Kelly is a baby shower game planning fool! Her games were fun, easy, and low stress for everyone. I have been to baby showers where I excuse myself to use the bathroom or start talking to someone when I go to get a drink, come back to the group, and feel like I have interrupted something….not to mention, I have know idea what was going on! I felt like people could excuse themselves for a short period of time and come back into the group easily. Thanks for planning wonderful games for my shower Kelly!! xoxo
The baby food game. Where you buy ten types of baby food and cover up the lables, I used ribbon. I loved the ladies because some people are like no I am not doing that and then end up winning the game… or the women who swear they can tell! I used it for my friends shower and I do not think I laughed so hard.
Christie,
I can’t wait to meet your son! xoxoxo!
You are too kind. I’m really glad you enjoyed the shower games. I definitely picked my favorites for you (although I can’t take credit for the piggy bank one. That was all Erin). Your shower was a lot of fun!
Courtney,
. The only problem with that one is if someone is vegetarian (like me). I have gone to showers but not been able to play that game because they all had meat in them. You are so right though, people say the most hysterical things!
The baby food one is definitely a fun one! Christie actually planned that one for me at my baby shower
I have never heard of the the piggy bank one! I wish I had done that because that’s a smart game and it sounds very entertaining! I’ll have to try that one next time! Thanks for these great ideas, the questions are fun, too!
Hey Jessica,
The piggy bank game is a fun one! and you don’t even really need to buy a prize for it, it’s fun enough to see what everyone has done. Definitely use it for the next shower you plan!
Kelly
My favorite baby shower game is baby bingo.
