Molly Mathews

My name is Molly. I have been married for 5 years and have two children. A 10 year old step-son, a 2 year old daughter and I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with a boy! I live in the town I grew up in and have a large family that I see often. We all live close to each other right now and I hope it stays that way as we draw a lot of support from one another. I have been a nurse for 6 years, mostly in the emergency department, and I love my job. Since young childhood I dreamed of being a nurse and a mom and here I am both! I couldn't have imagined how difficult the journey would be but neither could I have fathomed the Joy that would come from both. Becoming a mom has made me into a better person in many ways and a bit of a crazy worry wart in other ways! Having support from other moms who have been there before or are there with you makes all the difference in the world!

Baby Levi Brown!

There are so many books that are filled with baby names, but when it comes down to actually picking out a name for a child, the final decision can be a tough one.  Blake, on the other hand, always knew what he wanted to name his first-born son, and he didn’t need a book full of baby names to help him decide!

Although we are unsure of his middle name thus far, Blake has given our son the name of “Levi.”  In a way, it’s kind of a relief to know that we are having a boy instead of a girl because we were having major difficulty picking out girls names that we both liked.  I never had a choice when it came down to the name “Levi,” because I knew how much Blake wanted it for his first son, and I was not about to take that privilege away from him; good thing I like the name!

Aside from giving our son his name, we wanted to make sure that we registered for items that seemed to fit our idea of who Levi would be.  We picked some adorable blue jeans and button-up plaid shirts, and we want to get some cowboy boots for him, too.  He’s going to be our little cowboy, and it makes sense seeing as how Blake is from Texas:  Like father, like son.

I think that Levi liked a lot of the things we picked out for him on our registry because he was very active in my belly while we were at the store.  I kept rubbing my belly and Blake would put his hand on it and we kept smiling at the thought of Levi giving us the go-ahead regarding the items we were choosing for him!

I keep looking ahead to the day we’ll be able to bring Levi home from the hospital, and we already know what we’re going to dress him in:  A long sleeved, navy blue onesy with a monkey on the front and a pair of striped pajama pants that have a monkey on the backside; friend’s of the family gave them to us as a congratulations gift, and we love them!  They also gave us a onesy that reads, “bananas for mommy,” and I have to admit that it’s my favorite piece of clothing we’ve received!

What kinds of items did ya’ll choose as soon as you knew the sex of your baby?  If you haven’t found out yet, are you looking forward to registering for anything specific?

When we were discussing names my husband considered Levi if we had a boy. So I totally approve! Not that you need it haha. As for a middle name, does your husband have any family names? Or what was your maiden name? Sometimes people with maiden names like “smith” or something will use it as a middle name. Just an idea.

That maiden name idea I wish I could use, but my maiden name is “Gravette,” pronounced like Corvette but with a g-r-a instead of a c-o-r ! I like Blake’s middle name, Hunter.. Levi Hunter Brown…? lol

I know, right! Blake is still unsure, but IIIII get 75% control over the middle name since I had 0 over the first name, I think lol

I say you definitely get majority in the middle name! And I still Love Levi Hunter Brown. It’s sooooooooo adorable I can’t even stand it :-)
